Message Waiting

Functional description

If the called subscriber is absent, the function allows the calling subscriber to leave a message and notify the called subscriber of the message.

Operating procedure

  • A extension subscriber dials another subscriber’s number.
  • The called subscriber does not answer the call since the subscriber is absent.
  • The calling subscriber presses the Hook Flash button and enters the message registration code (Default:*71).
  • The calling subscriber hears the service set tone.

    5 If the terminal to which the message waiting is registered is D-Tel, the following message is displayed.

    MSG EXT(1) TRK(0) VM(0)

    2000 – 01 - 01 09:00 am

  • The subscriber for whom a message is left hooks off the handset.
  • The subscriber hears the function registration tone notifying that there is a message registered.
  • The subscriber enters the message answer code (Default:*72).
  • The subscriber getting the message receives the calling tone while the subscriber who registered a message receives the calling signal.

    5 The latter subscriber above answers the calling signal.

    6 A call between the two subscribers is established.

  • The extension subscriber who leaves a message hooks off the handset
  • Enter the message cancellation code (Default:*700) followed by the number of the subscriber who registered the message waiting.
  • Hear the service set tone.

  • A extension subscriber dials another subscriber’s number.
  • The called subscriber does not answer the call since the subscriber is absent.
  • Press the “CALLBK”(Call Back) button.
  • The calling subscriber hears the service set tone.

    5 If the terminal to which the message waiting is registered is D-Tel, the following message is displayed.

    MSG EXT(1) TRK(0) VM(0)

    2000 – 01 - 01 09:00 am

  • The message waiting is displayed on the LCD screen of the subscriber.
  • Press the “SPEAKER” button.
  • Press the “CALLBK”(Call Back) button.
  • The subscriber getting the message receives the calling tone while the subscriber who registered a message receives the calling signal.

    5 The latter subscriber above answers the calling signal.

    6 A call between the two subscribers is established.

  • A extension subscriber hooks off the handset.
  • Enter the message cancellation code (Default:*700). At this time, the following message is displayed on the LCD screen of D-Tel.

    ENTER A STATION NUMBER

    3 Press the number of another subscriber who got the message waiting.

  • Hear the service set tone.

  • Press “CALLBK”(Call Back) button.
  • Press the “DND/CFWD” button.
  • Hear the service set tone.
  • At this time, the deleted message is not displayed on the LCD screen any more.

  • An extension subscriber calls a extension subscriber.
  • The called extension subscriber does not answer the call.
  • The extension subscriber is recovered.
  • The message waiting is automatically registered to the extension subscriber according to the message waiting registration option.

  • Dial the deletion code (Default:*70*) of all message waiting information.
  • All information is deleted and the result is displayed on the LCD screen of D-Tel.

  • Dial the deletion code (Default:*701) of all message waiting information registered by the request from the station.
  • All information is deleted and the result is displayed on the LCD screen of D-Tel.

  • Dial the deletion code (Default:*702) of all message waiting information registered by the request from the extension.
  • All information is deleted and the result is displayed on the LCD screen of D-Tel.

  • Dial the deletion code (Default:*703) of all message waiting information registered by the request from the VPM.
  • All information is deleted and the result is displayed on the LCD screen of D-Tel.

  • The Reserve LED flashes if there is any registered message.
  • Press the Waiting button while the handset is in position.
  • If there are more than two registered messages, they are displayed on the LCD of the D-Tel in the order that they were received.

    4 To delete any registered message, the subscriber should press the Reject/Forward button while the message to be deleted is displayed on the LCD.

    Service conditions

    • If the message is not registered normally, hear the lockout tone.
    • Only one message can be registered to a general extension subscriber.
    • The message waiting cannot be registered to the Hot Line subscriber.
    • The message waiting cannot be registered to the calling group or representative attendant.
    • Only one message can be registered to a general phone.
    • If the message waiting is requested in the status that the message waiting was registered to the general phone, the request is processed as errors.
    • Up to 10 message waiting can be registered to each D-Tel.
    • If the subscriber already registered requests another message waiting for registering the message waiting to D-Tel, the request is disregarded.
    • If the message waiting is requested from the extension to D-Tel, the number of waited messages, which are registered in the system, from the extension should not exceed 2000 messages.
    • If the number of waited messages in D-Tel is 10 and the message waiting is requested from the station, the request is registered only in case that there should be message waiting from the station among the existing message waiting contents registered. Note that at this time, the first registered information among the messages that were registered by the request from the station is deleted.
    • In case that the message waiting is requested from the extension to D-Tel in the status that the number of messages waited from the extension in the system is 2000, if there are messages waited from the extension to related D-Tel, the oldest information is deleted and the requested message is waited.
    • If the message waiting is registered to D-Tel, the number of registered message waiting for each station/extension/VMS is displayed.
    • The telephone for message waiting connected to SLC-MSW B’d can designate that it informs the subscriber of the message waiting registration by turning on the message waiting lamp for registering the message waiting,
    • If the general phone or the telephone for message waiting is designated so that it does not inform the subscriber of the message waiting registration by turning on the message waiting lamp for registering the message waiting, notify the subscriber of message waiting status by periodically sending the ring to the subscriber who registered the message waiting.
    • Once a call is set up by the message answer code, the registered message is automatically cancelled.

    Data generation

    • Designate whether displaying the message waiting registration to the general phone subscriber with ring, or lamp when registering the message waiting to the general phone
