Direct Outward Dialing (DOD)

Functional description

DOD enables the extension subscriber to make a call directly to the external subscriber without assistance of the operator. Operation methods are as follows.

Operating procedure

  • Off hook.
  • Hear the extension dial tone.
  • Dial the trunk occupancy code.
  • Hear the trunk dial tone. If the virtual dial tone is selected, the subscriber will hear the virtual dial tone instead of the trunk dial tone. (See function of the virtual dial tone.)

    5 Dial the external subscriber’s number.

    6 Hear the ring back tone.

    7 When the external subscriber answers, make conversation.

    • Outward dialing using the system speed dial (See system speed dial function)
  • Off hook.
  • Hear the extension dial tone.
  • Dial the system speed code.
  • Hear the ring back tone.

    5 When the external subscriber answers, make conversation.

    • Outward dialing using the individual speed dial (See individual speed dial function)
  • Off hook.
  • Hear the extension dial tone.
  • Dial the individual speed dialing function code.
  • Dial the individual speed index number.

    5 Hear the ring back tone.

    6 When the external subscriber answers, make conversation.

    • Outward dialing after selecting the designated trunk of D-Tel flexible button. (See D-Tel flexible button function.)
  • Off hook.
  • Hear the extension dial tone.
  • Press the flexible button that is assigned with the intended trunk.
  • Hear the trunk dial tone. If the virtual dial tone is selected, the subscriber will hear the virtual dial tone instead of the trunk dial tone. (See function of the virtual dial tone.)

    5 Dial external subscriber’s telephone number.

    6 Hear the ring back tone.

    7 When the external subscriber answers, make conversation.

    • Outward dialing using external speed dial that is assigned to the D-Tel flexible button (See the D-Tel flexible button)

    [When only the trunk occupancy code is registered.]

  • Off hook.
  • Hear the extension dial tone.
  • Press the flexible button.
  • Hear the trunk dial tone. If the virtual dial tone is selected, the subscriber will hear the virtual dial tone instead of the trunk dial tone. (See function of the virtual dial tone.)

    5 Dial external subscriber’s telephone number.

    6 Hear the ring back tone.

    7 When the external subscriber answers, make conversation.

  • Off hook.
  • Hear the extension dial tone.
  • Press the related flexible button.
  • Dial remaining of the external subscriber’s phone numbers.

    5 Hear the ring back tone.

    6 When the external subscriber answers, make conversation.

  • Off hook.
  • Hear the extension dial tone.
  • Press the concerned flexible button.
  • Hear the ring back tone.

    Service conditions

    • The trunk occupancy code should be pre-produced.
    • Trunks that will be sent to the concerned trunk code should be pre-assigned.
    • The grade of the extension subscriber should be E class or above.
    • Outgoing digit limit will be applied for trunk incoming. (See class of service)

    • Assign outward trunk
