Call WaitingFunctional description
If it is necessary to make an urgent call to an extension subscriber engaged in the other call, the function allows the calling subscriber to dial Call Waiting code to inform the called subscriber that there is an urgent call waiting. The called subscriber engaged in the other call hears the alarm tone, can have the other subscriber who have been calling to standby, and can make a call with the calling subscriber.
Operating procedure
- Call Waiting on general telephone
Extension subscriber (A) picks up the handset. Dial the telephone number of extension subscriber (B) who is engaged in the other call. Busy tone is heard. Dial the code of Call Waiting (Default:5). 5 Extension subscriber (A) becomes held and hears holding tone, and the subscriber (B) hears alarm tone while engaging in the other call.
6 Subscriber (B) presses Hook Flash.
7 Subscriber (C) who has been talking with subscriber (B) over the phone becomes waiting and hears holding tone. Call is made between subscriber (A) and subscriber (B).
8 Subscriber (B) presses Hook Flash again.
9 Call resumes between subscriber (B) and subscriber (C) who has been held, and subscriber (A) becomes held again.
- Call Waiting on D-Tel telephone
D-Tel subscriber (A) picks up the handset. Dial the telephone number of extension subscriber (B) who is engaged in the other call. Busy tone is heard. Dial the code of Call Waiting (Default:5). 5 D-Tel subscriber (A) becomes held and hears holding tone, and the subscriber (B) hears alarm tone while engaged in the other call.
6 Extension subscriber (B) presses “TRANS”(Transfer) button or “HOLD/SAVE” button.
7 Subscriber (C) who has been engaged in the call with subscriber (B) becomes waiting and hears holding tone. Call is made between subscriber (A) and subscriber (B).
8 Subscriber (B) presses “TRANS”(Transfer) button or “HOLD/SAVE button.
9 Call resumes between subscriber (B) and subscriber (C) who has been held, and subscriber (A) becomes held again.
Service conditions
- This function is not performed when Step Call is used in the system.
- Call Waiting is not made to the subscriber engaged in Privacy call.
- If the called subscriber is not engaged in 1 to 1 call, lockout tone is heard upon the Call Waiting request. In other words, this function is not available when the called subscriber is already in Call Waiting, conference call, or when the called subscriber is receiving ring signal.
- This function is not available if the called subscriber is an operator.
- When a subscriber is held, and the other two subscribers are engaged in a call, if a subscriber engaged in the call hangs up the handset, call is automatically made between the subscriber on held and the other subscriber.
- If the called subscriber hangs up the handset while holding tone is heard for Call Waiting, Ringing tone is transmitted to the subscriber on held, and ring signal is transmitted to the called subscriber.

- Designate the digit that performs the same procedure as H/F

Interaction
- In case the subscriber who received Call Waiting while engaged in the call presses a digit, if the digit is the same as the value in [2.6 System Feature Option-DP H/F Digit Type], the same procedure as H/F is performed.
- If the called subscriber is engaged in a call, the services are provided in the order of Auto Group Hunting / Auto Hold / Auto Call Waiting / Auto Camp On.
