1.8 PSU (Power Supply Unit)

PSU is a reliable system power resource for feeding DC power to each board. CS1000 has two kinds of PSU that are PSU-D, PSU-A. PSU-D converts -54V to ±5V and operates in duplication mode. When PSU-D is used, an external rectifier to give DC -54V and RGU(Ring Generation Unit) to be equipped in the system are necessary.

PSU-A converts AC 230V/50 Hz commercial power to DC power –54V, ±5V and also provides a ring signal as well.

1.8.1 PSU-A

PSU-A works as a rectifier that converts the Commercial AC 230V/50Hz to DC ±5V, -54V and a ring signal source. The external battery can be recharged by PSU-A and when the power is down, the battery connected to PSU-A can take over the role as the power source. In the front of PSU-A,there are Power On LED which shows its working status, a power switch, a fuse and battery switch by which the installer can disconnect the power feeding from the battery when installing it.

    1.8.2 PSU-D

    PSU-D receives DC–54V from the External Rectifier. And DC/DC Converter provides DC ±5V to each board. In the front side, there are NOR LED, ALM LED, Test Point where the installer can check +5V output voltage and a switch controlling –54V input voltage.

    1.8.3 RGU

    RGU provides the ring signal with the line boards from –54V power resource fed from the external rectifier. In the front side of RGU, there are OPR LED, ALM LED, STB LED showing the status of operation of duplicated controllers and a switch that controls the input –54V.

    1.8.4 TB/NF (Terminal Block / Noise Filter) TB/NF is an interface part attached on MMB or EMB that is used only when PSU-D is used. The basic type system uses TB/NF-BS that consist of TB, NF and circuit breaker and the expansion system uses TB/NF-ES.
